Today, 30 years ago, Bishop Margaret and Reverend Wilma Jakobsen were ordained as priests by the Late Archbishop Desmond Tutu at a packed St George’s Cathedral, Cape Town, and were amongst the first women priests in ACSA.

We congratulate Bishop Margaret and Revd Wilma on their 30th Anniversary to the Priesthood and wish them God’s richest blessings on their ministry. We also extend our congratulations to all other clergy celebrating ordination anniversary at this time.

Bishop Margaret preached a powerful homily at the Eucharist of the Provincial Standing Committee (PSC) meeting this morning. Revd Wilma joined the virtual service at the Diocesan Hub, Somerset West.

God our Father, you are the source of all truth and peace:

Look with mercy on your children

Purify our hearts from all hatred falsehood and prejudice

And so guide us by your loving wisdom

That peace and righteousness may be established among all people; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
