Bishop Stafford Moses – address to DSC November 2024

My dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Peace and grace be unto you.
A year ago, I was elected as the third Bishop of the Diocese of False Bay. I am following in the footsteps of the late Bishop Merwyn Castle and Bishop Margaret Vertue, who retired last year. At the outset I wish to express my thanks to the Very Reverend Ronald Phillips who was the Vicar-General until my consecration in 24th of February as the Church of God remembered Polycarp, Bishop of Smyrna and Martyr, this year.
As a Parish Priest for more than 30 years, I had to adjust myself to make the transition from Priest to Bishop. With God’s help, I remain committed and faithful to my calling which started as a deacon, to remain truthful to the God who calls and who equips.
In my address, I will reflect briefly on where the Diocese finds itself and use this opportunity to prayerfully share with you my vision for our Diocese during my episcopacy.
